NY_HEARTS: PARK SLOPE
FEATURING CARLO ALBAN

EXTENDED BY POPULAR DEMAND!

MAY 24 – JUNE 16

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS IN PARK SLOPE BROOKLYN
INCLUDING BABELAND, DELUXE COFFEE & BAR TOTO

After a successful initial run in Park Slope, NY_Hearts storywalks returns May 24 – June 16 to share the tale of Sal and Madelyn, two struggling Brooklyn musicians. Part walking tour, part love story, NY_Hearts offers people a new way to discover NYC by stepping into the characters’ shoes. Set in NYC neighborhoods, participants enjoy drinks and other surprises from local businesses, which are featured in an audio story shared over mobile devices. Other bits of the story include character websites, online character vlogs, original music and visual art.

Carlo Albán plays the role of Sal, a songwriter who meets the love of his life, Madelyn. Together, amidst the brownstones of Park Slope, they write tunes and find more than just a musical partner.

“We’re thrilled to be extending the Park Slope storywalk,” said creator and producer James Carter. “It’s been a beautiful spring, and participants have been treated to a great story as they visit gorgeous locations and get cool gifts from our fantastic participating businesses. I can’t wait for more people to enjoy it.”

Featuring six different locations in the Park Slope, Brooklyn, including three small businesses, NY_Hearts: Park Slope integrates goods and services featured in the tale. Participating partners include Babeland, DeLuxe, and Bar Toto. Conceived as a fun way to discover the New York neighborhoods, the ticket includes coffee, drinks and a surprise toy.

Let’s Go on a Story Hike!

The first weekend of NY_Hearts: Park Slope was a grand time. It was great to see familiar faces and new friends come through the experience.

People often ask, “What is NY_Hearts?”

This weekend one of our awesome participants distilled it down to a great description.

“I’m going on a story hike!” he exclaimed.

A story hike is exactly what a NY_Hearts neighborhood experience is. You listen to a love story from the POV of one of its characters in the locations where the story takes place, and you walk from location to location, experiencing the environment and getting gifts from local businesses.

Our sponsors, Babeland, Bar Toto and DeLuxe are tops. We couldn’t do it without them, and we have so much fun whenever we pop in with a new group in tow. Can’t thank them enough.

We can’t wait until next weekend. NY _Hearts: Park Slope is already turning out to be a super fun story hike.

Join us! Purchase tickets here.

Opening Night Party!

NY_Hearts: Park Slope launched last night at Babeland on Bergen Street in Brooklyn. We had a great time and want to thank Babeland for offering such a wonderful evening. Thanks to our killer creative team, especially Carlo Albán, who plays Sal. Most of all, thanks to our fans for showing up. Can’t wait for you all to go through the experience.

We kicked things off with some champagne, and experience designer James Carter shared how NY_Hearts came to be. He recapped the story from last year in the Lower East Side and set up the Park Slope leg. Then, we listened to the second part of Park Slope, which features Babeland. The performances ended with Carlo Albán singing “Hit,” the original tune by Shaun Bengson and James Carter, which is also in the story.

All our guests, of course, received the special surprise gifts featured in the Babeland portion of the story. And one lucky winner walked away with big bag of toys and goodies from our sponsors for answering the trivia question from the Lower East Side part of the tale:

What were the two kinds of art Jill from NY_Hearts: LES created?

The first person to tweet the answer to @NY_Hearts wins two tickets to the experience.

Thanks, again, to Babeland and all our fans. Love you loads!
